The Fort Zumwalt School District instructional program is well organized and systematically reviewed and updated to offer the best possible education to students. Curriculum review is completed on a six-year, revolving cycle encompassing all areas of study in grades K-12. Emphasis is stressed on developing basic skills (reading, mathematics, writing and spelling) at both the elementary and secondary levels.
Teachers are expected to individualize instruction so that each student has an opportunity to be successful in studies regardless of ability. A wide range of special education services are available to district students, including services for problems in speech and language, behavioral, learning and others.
An accelerated education program serves students in grades one through eight. Students at the high schools have an opportunity to select college credit courses in the areas of language arts, math, science and social studies.
Curriculum Council subcommittees continually review district instructional policies and procedures to maintain a quality educational program.
