• What is an A+ School?
  
  
• Students attending designated A+ Schools may be eligible for funds to pay for tuition and common fees at any public community college or public vocational/technical school in Missouri.
• All high schools participating in the A+ Schools Program undergo continuous reflection and improvement activities in an effort to ensure that all of their students are provided a rigorous academic and technical education that prepares them for the work place, post-secondary vocational/technical training, or college.
• You may download a three-page application to enroll in the A+ Schools Program. Complete the application including both parent and student signatures. Submit the three pages to the A+ Office at your high school. The A+ Office will get the necessary principal's signature.
  
  Make High School Count!

Students attending a designated A+ School may be eligible for state-funded assistance to pay for two years of tuition and common fees at any Missouri public community college or public vocational-technical school. To receive A+ benefits at a community college or state-supported vocational/technical school, a student must be enrolled full time in a degree or certificate seeking program.

• I Wish to Participate in the A+ Schools Program at Fort Zumwalt West High.

  If state funds are available and Fort Zumwalt West High continues designation as an A+ school prior to my graduation, I may receive reimbursement for college expenses determined by the Missouri General Assembly while attending a Missouri public community college or public vocational/technical school on a full-time basis. This reimbursement may be for the unpaid balance of the cost of tuition, general fees and up to fifty percent (50%) of the book cost subject to legislative appropriation. (Currently, the cost of books is not covered.) If a student is eligible for a PELL grant from the federal government, A+ will pay the balance of the cost of tuition and general fees after the PELL grant has been applied. This financial assistance is on the condition that I meet the following requirements:

  1. Attend a designated A+ School for three (3) consecutive years prior to high school graduation;
  2. Graduate from high school with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale;
  3. Have at least 95% attendance for the four-year period;
  4. Graduate with fifty (50) documented hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring of younger students in approved settings;
  5. Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs and alcohol;
  6. Make a good faith effort to secure federal post-secondary student financial assistance funds during the last semester of senior year.
  7. All males who reach their 18th birthday must register for the Selective Service.

  To maintain eligibility after high school graduation, I understand that I must meet the following requirements:

  1. Enroll and attend on a full-time basis a Missouri public community college or public vocational-technical school.
  2. Maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Make a good faith effort to secure federal post-secondary student financial assistance each year.
