From the Principal's Desk

Welcome to Herbert A. Westhoff Elementary School. We are excited about our eighth year of providing families in the Fort Zumwalt School District with an education filled with individual student achievement. Our focus is to help our students succeed in all aspects of life. At Westhoff, students are not only taught academics but they are cared for, respected, and loved. It is the primary goal of the staff to meet the entire needs of each child. This happens when the community of teachers, students, and parents work together.

There are many fantastic curricular and extracurricular activities and events happening at Westhoff each day. We invite you to be a part of the excitement. Parents are always welcomed and encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education. Working together will ensure success for all of our students.

PTC Information

We are an organization composed of parents and teachers who are committed in enhancing the learning experience of our children. There are many exciting activities and events planned for this year and we hope to have all of our parents involved. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the PTC. Activities are scheduled throughout the school year and we would love to see all of our parents at each event. Specific information on events and activities are in the monthly newsletter, attached to this site.

The Westhoff Library/Media Center is a wonderful place to explore. Mrs. Meyers and Mrs. Kellems have created an atmosphere that students love to be in and get excited about learning and reading. In addition to students using the library for research and checking out books, each class (in grades first through fifth) is scheduled for 25 minutes a week in the library. Westhoff is proud to have the Reading Counts Program from Scholastic available in every classroom to enhance reading skills for every learner.
