Dear Parents and Visitors,
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Fort Zumwalt North High School, I would
like to welcome you to our webpage. While our small piece of “cyberspace”
should provide you with the answers to many of the questions you may have, please
do not hesitate to call my office, (636) 272-4447, if there are any questions
that you are not able to have answered here. Fort Zumwalt North High School is an exciting, comprehensive high school of
approximately 1,300 students. In order to provide the highest quality of instruction,
our faculty is committed to facilitating meaningful learning opportunities for
all North High School students. In addition, North High features outstanding
programs in all areas of academics, fine arts and athletics. Furthermore, North
High School offers students countless opportunities to become involved in extracurricular
endeavors. Fort Zumwalt North High School is one that is steeped in tradition. For example,
Fort Zumwalt High School, which is currently North Middle School, opened in
1960 to grades 7—10. At that time the district had an enrollment of eleven
hundred students. The first graduating class was the Class of 1963, where fifty-four
students received their high school diplomas. The first class graduated from
the newly built Fort Zumwalt High School, now North High, in 1977. North High
is the oldest and most storied of our district’s, soon to be, four traditional
high schools. In an effort to accentuate this tradition, our focus for the 2006-2007
school year (and hopefully beyond) will be to, “Restore the Roar.”
By doing so, we hope to secure a future that may shine even brighter than our
illustrious past. I am very proud to be principal of Fort Zumwalt North High School and am humbled
to have the opportunity to work with such a tremendous staff, dynamic students
and supportive parents. I truly believe that, by working together, we will be
able to help our students, your children, grow towards reaching their fullest
potential. Once again, thank you for visiting our website. Sincerely,
Joe Sutton
Principal
GRADINGGrades must represent how the student has met the objectives of the course and the level of achievement within the subject matter. All teachers must base grades on the following percentages of the total points possible. This will ensure consistency from teacher to teacher and building to building.
